Gastrobodies are engineered antibody mimetics that are resilient to the harsh environment in the GI tract. The gastrobody protein scaffold is derived from a naturally occuring soybean protein with protein loops that can be engineered to bind and recognise any feasible target.

Gastrobodies can be expressed in a variety of expression systems whether that be in yeast, bacteria, fungi, plant or mammalian cells. This means gastrobodies can be produced in an affordable, scalable and sustainable manner compared to traditional biopharmaceuticals.
